JOB FUNCTION
This role is responsible for developing long term strategy and annual implementation plan for the Guinness VIP programme, managing & supervising content development for search engines (SEO) & social media (SMO) whilst ensuring that Guinness VIP’s digital footprint performs exceptionally well in search engines. The role will continually identify and quantify new growth opportunities and third party strategic partnership opportunities that will re-enforce our Digital Credentials’ whilst leveraging consumer insights, working closely with the Marketing Director and both Global Brand and Africa Hub Teams to grow the portfolio opportunities for Guinness.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and execute ambitious recruitment plans for Guinness VIP and other Digital initiatives which would position Guinness Nigeria as the Digital Communications market leader in Nigeria
- Programme Management of the Guinness VIP Digital Relationship Marketing programme - Guinness VIP SEO, m.guinnessvip.com, PR releases, offline assets)
- Support and inspire the Brand and Customer Marketing team, ensuring full adherence to Diageo Marketing Code (DMC) and Digital Code of Practice
- Develop the annual Brand Media Plan for non-conventional media and development of third party strategic partnerships
- Lead the development and commercial implementation of annual Game Plan
- Data analysis of performance metrics to identify issues and opportunities at site infrastructure, page and keyword level, converting those into actions, and driving the actions to achieve the results based on the overall strategy
- Constantly maintaining the content brief and proactively identifying missing information and communicating it to content creation teams
- Support Marketing Director as required in managing annual media planning and liaising with Procurement Media Specialist to develop world class media plans for conventional & non-conventional media.
- Ensure strong collaboration with other African team members and Hub Teams in building the trademark & stout category via new media.
QUALIFICATION
- University Degree in marketing / business or other related discipline
- Postgraduate Qualifications is an advantage
- Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 2 to 3 years experience in Digital Marketing strategy development and implementation across search engines (SEO) & social media (SMO)
- 4 to 6 years strong Brand and Trade Marketing experience
- Content Management and optimization for owned media, asset and priority projects
- Demonstrates excellent Commercial judgement & acumen
- Budget & cost control management.
- Platform Development Experience and/or Knowledge
- Experience with Google Analytics, and/or Radian6 Analytics tool
- Knowledge of HTML, PHP, SQL, Actionscript, CSS, Javascript, OR XML is an added advantage
- Barriers to Success in Role
- Insufficient experience in the Digital marketing space
- Inability to manage and influence a cross functional team
- Lack of focus on execution rigour & detail.
