Job description

The Public Relations Officer will:

  • Support the HOF communications capacity on the ground and act as a spokesperson with media when required.
  • Organize PR events (e.g. open days, press conferences) and serve as the company’s spokesperson
  • Seek opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising
  • Develop PR campaigns and media relations strategies
  • Provide context analysis and draft communication pack with key material (facts and figures, key messages, press releases etc)
  • Maintain a social media presence for the organisation
  • Produce/assist in the production of advocacy messages

Other assignments that may arise to fulfil organisational goals, and as may be assigned by Managing Director.

Requirements

 

Education:

At least a bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Journalism, arts, humanities, or other relevant field.

 

Experience:

  • At least 4 years Proven experience as a Public Relations Officer or similar PR role
  • Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print)
  • Background in researching, writing and editing publications

Job description

  • You may be required to be present at meetings to establish key contacts and build firm working relationships. Support good, effective working relations with client and key stakeholders (both internal and external) across the business. This may involve travel across the country 
  • To provide support in tender submissions and bid writing producing information in a timely manner whilst achieving tight deadlines.
  • To support mobilization/demobilization coordination for new contracts.
  •  To undertake Ad Hoc project work to meet operational needs.
  • To coordinate the delivery of interim contracts.

Requirements

 

Education:

At least a bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Degree in Business Administration or its equivalent or other relevant field.

 

Experience:

  • At least 4 years Proven experience as Business Support Officer or similar PR role
  • Strong ability in business support role and/or in office management role
  • Business management expertise and experience
  • Expertise in the use of modern technologies
  • Ability to coordinate business development research
