POSITION : Marketing Director, West Africa and Francophone Sub-Sahara Africa
Responsibilities
- Oversee integrated marketing approach and solutions for the West Africa and Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa that drive Mastercard business performance and contribute to company’s positive reputation
- Ensure best alignment of marketing resources to support volume, transactions and revenue growth, while staying locally relevant and in alignment with regional strategies and priorities
Role
- Develops metrics and specifications to track program performance, measures program performance, and makes recommendations based on results
- Translates high-level direction into desired specifications for Mastercard or agency staff for production and delivery of promotional marketing materials, including print, electronic, direct mail and other promotions
- Oversees and manages local Marketing budget to ensure that all campaigns, programs, and activities are within allocated budget
- Plans, oversees and executes local Marketing strategies, including advertising, promotions, sponsorships, market research, product marketing, co-promotions with merchants/banks/other partners, etc., to align with business priorities and deliver against company objectives
- Leads projects on behalf of several countries, balancing needs of different stakeholders and managing multiple work streams
- Identifies consumer segment needs and priorities, and leverages consumer insights in marketing programs and activities
- Supports development of consumer-led product value propositions relevant for local markets, and execution of Product Marketing strategies to drive adoption and usage
Requirements
- Marketing experience with a mix of B2C, B2B and product marketing
- Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred
- Strong project and time management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and French languages
- Preferably based in Lagos, Nigeria with no objection to travel for work, primarily within countries of responsibility
- Demonstrated success in building integrated marketing plans that leveraged synergies between multiple marketing channels
- Demonstrated success in delivering results on multiple projects, setting priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated success building relationships and delivering results with global, multi-cultural or remote project teams
- Demonstrated ability in establishing collaborative relationships with regional Marketing counterparts and representing the voice of the local market
- Extensive experience and demonstrated success in one marketing family, with additional experience in two to three marketing families, including B2B or Consumer Marketing
