POSITION : Policy Research Analyst
Responsibilities
The Policy Research Analyst will:
- Write policy papers, reports, and research summaries for internal and external audiences
- Monitor external research and policy developments.
- Carry out policy research and analysis on key issues in Nigeria’s development space
- Lead public policy dialogue initiatives in policy and development
Corporate Competencies
The Policy Research Analyst will:
- Promote the vision, mission and strategic goals of Nextier Advisory
- Display cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability
- An understanding of and interest in Nigeria’s development issues
- An understanding of macroeconomic issues and how they relate to policy development
Functional Competencies
The Policy Research Analyst will have:
- Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management and reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationships with internal and external parties in a multicultural environment
- Ability to advise and oversee formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of projects and programmes
- Proven ability to incorporate into his/her work relevant international practices
- Some experience in providing policy advice
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proven written and presentation skills in a range of formats and to a range of audiences

The Policy Research Analyst will:
- Pursue innovative approaches and translate them into viable programme interventions
- Possess the ability to work independently and contribute to small teams
- Support strategic planning, resource-based management and reporting
The Policy Research Analyst will:

The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s Degree in Development Studies, Public Policy and Administration, Economics or related field
- Experience working in an international organization, preferably and familiarity with political analysis, as well as crisis prevention and recovery issues
- Excellent knowledge of Nigeria.
- Demonstrated experience in providing project and programme support
