Hamilton Lloyd and Associates - Our client is a leading indigenous conglomerate company with business interests in FMCG, Real Estate, Financial Services, ICT, Hospitality and Oil and Gas spread across the globe. Due to internal expansion processes, they have decided to hire a Team Lead IT.

Job Title: Team Lead, IT

Location: Lagos
Reports to: Head Human Resources and Admin
Grade Level/Job Classification: TBD
Supervises: Helpdesk Support Officer

Role summary
Responsible for designing, installing and maintaining databases, as well as the configuration and maintenance of all IT infrastructures to ensure optimum performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  •     Develop and implement policies and procedure for IT deployment, systems operations and development and ensure adherence to Groups IT Policy and Standards
  •     Prepare and manage IT budget and expenditures
  •     Ensure optimal performance of the databases
  •     Oversee Scheduling of upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems
  •     Oversee troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving and disaster recovery system
  •     Provide support in the management of the Groups website and the Corporate office intranet
  •     Advise the Departmental Head on technology upgrades and acquisitions.
  •     Manage the procurement, issuing and monitoring of IT devices/ assets
  •     Regularly monitor and reconcile the performance of the databases to pre-defined performance thresholds and take appropriate actions where required
  •     Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance and upgrade of database systems and related applications
  •     Ensure that data security and system audit are adequate and fail-safe
  •     Keep abreast of local and global best practices and make recommendations to the Head of the Department
  •     Ensure continued availability of all IT resources and facilities
  •     Maintain accurate inventory of technology hardware, business software applications and network infrastructure
  •     Ensure smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, telephones, print services and e-mail provision (intranet and internet)
  •     Interact with users at all levels to help resolve IT-related issues


Competency and Skills Requirements

  •     Ability to install and configure database management system software,
  •     Operating systems: MS Windows;
  •     Application development tools: SQL, etc.
  •     Sound knowledge of relevant database systems and applications: Oracle, SQL
  •     Good knowledge of specific IT tools:


Web development tools;

  •     Good understanding of relational database management systems – Oracle 8 or higher versions, MS SQL Server;


Testing tools;

  •     Good knowledge of relevant/applicable enterprise application: MBSS Solomon, GREAT PLAINS, etc
  •     Ability to multi task and effectively function under pressure
  •     Good problem solving and analytical skills


In respect of the ideal candidate profile:

Minimum Education:

  • A good first degree in Computer Science, Sciences or an Engineering discipline with relevant professional IT certification(s) e.g CCNA, MCSE, MCP, ITIL, MCSD, ORACLE 10G ETC


Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience
