Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Manager of Operations to lead and manage the administrative and manufacturing operations of the company.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process, ensuring efficient operations, and managing the company's resources in order to deliver world-class recycling and manufacturing operations.

Job Purpose

  • The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for leading the company's operational strategy to ensure the successful delivery of the company's objectives.
  • The role will include developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes, managing resources effectively, and developing and leading a team of skilled professionals to deliver high quality products and services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for developing and implementing the operational strategy to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the company's objectives. This includes developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes, managing resources effectively, and ensuring the timely delivery of products and services to customers.
  • Commercial and Sales Support: The General Manager Operations would also be expected to engage the Sales Team in the achievement of the company’s commercial and sales objectives by leveraging on their extensive network and resources.
  • The GM would be responsible for the expansion of the product’s market reach and commercial success.
  • Manufacturing and production: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished products. This includes managing the production process, ensuring quality control, managing inventory levels, and monitoring production costs.
  • Resource management: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for managing the company's resources, including personnel, equipment, and finances. This includes developing and managing budgets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and ensuring that all resources are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Team leadership: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for leading a team of skilled professionals to deliver high-quality products and services to our customers. This includes developing and implementing training programs, setting performance objectives, and ensuring that team members have the necessary resources to deliver their objectives.
  • Quality control: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for ensuring that all products and services delivered by the company meet the highest quality standards. This includes developing and implementing quality control procedures, monitoring production processes, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Health and safety: The General Manager of Operations will be responsible for ensuring that the company's operations comply with all health and safety regulations. This includes developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits, and ensuring that all employees are trained on health and safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a manufacturing or recycling environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of leading successful teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control systems
  • Experience in developing and implementing operational strategies
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.

Working Conditions:

  • The General Manager of Operations will work in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • The role will require some travel to various production facilities and customer sites.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work outside of regular business hours on occasion.

Salary
N800,000 - N1,200,000 Monthly.
