Job Title: CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER (CCO)

The Position:

You will hold the position of Chief Commercial Officer for Damco in Nigeria and join a young, energetic and ambitious team of highly skilled logistics professionals. You will head the Commercial department and manage all projects and tenders. You will be ultimately responsible for volume/revenue growth generated from new clients as well as maximizing volumes with our current client base. You will be a key player in the further growth and development of our company. The product scope today includes LSS, Air, and Ocean– however the right candidate must be able, jointly with the management team, to develop new products to address the direction and developments in the market.

Leadership Level/Reporting Line: Leader of Others – You will be reporting to the Country Manager.
   
Key Responsibilities
Specific tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • CM1 and revenue growth
  • Head Business Development/Commercial Initiatives and Efforts
  • Establish a strong sales pipeline and achieve strong sales conversion
  • Maximize volumes with current clients through building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Optimize and coach the team to become best-in-class, and reviewing sales teams’ KPIs to ensure they are aligned with the growth strategy
  • Expand our product portfolio to include door-to-door operations jointly with our colleagues abroad
  • Head and Execute Projects, Trade-lane initiatives and Tenders within country

  • Strategy and Strategic Sales Accounts
  • Develop and expand current service portfolio
  • CM1 and CM1 growth
  • Trade-lane Market shares
  • Customer Satisfaction Survey

   
Who we are looking for:

  • Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience from a similar position, preferably in Freight Forwarding/Logistics company
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders
  • A relevant degree in business management, economics or logistics is an advantage
  • Result oriented with strong business acumen and a strong sense of urgency
  • Knowledge of our core business and ability to pitch a winning strategy differentiating Damco
  • Proven track record of business development, commercial and operational management of a business
  • Fluent in English language; knowledge of French is an advantage.
