Oyivo Publishing ( a division of Vertical Optimization, LLC.) is a leading provider of digital content for learning, educational and religious institutions. Our flagship product, Oyivo SchoolBook [TM], replaces the stock of paper-based textbook with a reliable, portable digital tablet device that includes a variety of textbooks, learning aids and multimedia learning tools, all at a very affordable price point. We assist new authors to develop and publish their textbooks and manu-scripts worldwide. Job Description:
- Oyivo is hiring for a Manger (Author Relations) position that will be responsible for developing and managing all acquisition procedures, planning and procurement for Oyivo Schoolbooks.
- The Author Relations Manager will report directly to the Country Operations Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Locate, screen and acquire rights from publishers and agents for distribution of content
- Manage contract renewal/termination for new and existing vendors and agreements
- Manage project budgets and schedules and oversee all aspects of product development
- Market research and analysis for pricing of Oyivo Schoolbook content
- Negotiate with content vendors and close e-book distribution contracts
- Provide guidance for procurement of goods/services
- Build effective working relationships with supply partners
- Explore and test new acquisition channels
- Develop marketing programs that attract publisher acquisition
Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Law
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in content acquisition and publishing
- Contract negotiation experience for e-books/digital content a plus
- Knowledge of content marketing and acquisition
- Data vendor relationship management a plus
- Exposure to contract law
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in reviewing complex contracts
- Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging and aggressive environment
- Proven ability to close deals
