Olashore International School (OIS), a private, co-educational boarding school in Iloko-Ijesa, Osun State is seeking applications from suitable candidates for the vacant position.
Job Title: Medical Doctor
Role Summary:
- The medical doctor will be responsible for the health and well-being of students and staff in the school and will provide support to health services in the local community through advice, advocacy and direct medical consultancy.
- Within the school they will lead and manage all health services, serving as a medical consultant, approving medical protocols and emergency procedures; evaluating the health services program for the school, and providing health screenings and examinations of students and staff.
- They will line manage all medical staff within the school ensuring that their professional development needs are met.
- In the community, they will support the local community to extend and improve the health care provision in the local area.
- This will include the direct provision of health care services to complement the current provision along with advocacy and health education within the community.
- This forms an integral part of the schools commitment to improving welfare services in the local community.
Qualification / Experience:
- Must be a General Medical Practitioner
- Possession of the Bachelor of medicine, Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) Degree or its equivalent, recognised by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria;
- Evidence of Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria
- Possession of the current Licence to practise, issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
- Minimum of two years post NYSC experience
- Evidence of experience working with children would be an advantage
- Basic level of computer literacy.
The ideal candidates will work closely with the Principal and members of the Schools Executive Management Team and must possess:
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- A high level of personal sensitivity and professional skill in dealings with students, parents, teaching staff, support staff colleagues and all other contacts
- The attributes of integrity, conscientiousness, adaptability and optimism
- The quality of an enthusiastic learner who is open to novel ideas, approaches and new ways of working
- Good team spirit and also participate as a team member in accomplishment of duties
- Strong ability to co-ordinate, proritise and organize workload; take initiative and work under pressure
- Strength and judgment for decision-making
- Ability to build and maintain effective/professional working relationships across the school and with external stakeholders of the school
- Should be willing to live within the school
