ICRC Job for Maintenance Officer

The International Committee of the Red Cross ( ) Delegation in Abuja is looking for a qualified candidate with the capacity to work autonomously to fill in the following interesting position.

Job Title: Maintenance Officer

Job Location: Abuja

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures good maintenance of ICRC premises (Residence and Offices)
  • Undertakes support missions to our offices in Port Harcourt, Kano, Jos and Maiduguri
  • Carries out basic repairs in premises and equipment
  • Organizes and supervises maintenance of our premises and equipment by sub-contractors
  • Follow-up utility bills of our premises
  • Purchases maintenance related materials
  • Keeps regular contacts with technical service providers and negotiates service agreements (A/C, pest control, furniture maintenance etc.)
  • Manages maintenance store
  • Implements and maintains passive security installations (smoke detectors, fire extinguisher etc.)

 Required Qualitications: 

  • University degree in civil or electrical engineering, or professional school with similar technical degree
  • 4 years experience in a similar field with preferably an international organization
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Good computer skills
  • Ability to take initiative and deal with people
  • Good management skills
  • Strong sense of responsibility and autonomy
  • Valid driving license
