Role Summary/Purpose:

The Project Controls Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.
The Project Controls Manager develops and maintains Project Management know how, support outage planning, schedule and cost management.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Scope, schedule and cost management/tracking/reporting for PGS outages.
  • Create/develop/maintain outages schedules.
  • Accountable for CDSi (Controller Data Sheet) cycle time and accuracy.
  • Implementation of project controls manual in the region.
  • Act as the link between the region and the project controls COE
  • Maintain compliance to project controls metrics
  • Provide reviews of financial performance, project execution, and schedule performance
  • Risk management of outages from a cost impact perspective
  • Continuous improvement of scope/schedule/cost tracking processes
  • Support ongoing tools and process development initiatives to support comprehensive analytics, sustainable metric reviews and action plans, and enable proactive cost management on all PGS outages.
  • Partner with region teams to support operations reviews; coordinate with key stakeholders to oversee weekly/monthly productivity reviews and facilitate best practices and lessons learned sharing.
  • Own wing to wing productivity of outages.
  • Support productivity initiatives in the region, including: CS, transactional, affiliate and Valpack
  • Manage processes and tools to enable visibility and management of full outage costs throughout Outage Management lifecycle.
  • Maintain/develop actual manhours/cost data base for reference as historical data.
  • Establish outages cost targets for PGS outages.
  • Support catalog updates.
  • Management and development of a team of Project Controls Specialists.
  • Support compliance to policy 6.
  • Support vendors' billing cycle time reduction.
  • Support digitization strategy for project control process, software systems and tools.
  • Continuous training for Field community on Project Management Methodology, PGS Outage Cost Management Process and tools including scheduling software (Primavera).

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a project management or project controls role
  • Proficiency of Primavera and Microsoft Project planning software.
  • Power generation services experience.
  • English language fluency.

  • Master's degree in Business Administration is preferred.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.
  • Ability to influence the organization at all levels.
  • Global project management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to energize teams and view change as an opportunity.
  • Familiar with PGS processes and systems.
  • Proficient computer skills including Office applications and data mining.
  • Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Strong people management and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Six Sigma training is preferred.
  • Database and reporting tools experience (ERP, Cognos).
  • Excellent facilitation, presentation, and verbal & written communication skills.
