Loesche Nigeria's scope of work will include the following activities:

  • Preparation and supervision of technical repairs, modifications and upgrades
  • Audit of cement plants and grinding terminals
  • Operations of grinding terminals and complete cement plants
  • Preventive maintenance and planning
  • Management of required spare parts
  • Recruitment, management and training of employees
  • Management of operational stability and improvement-process, product quality, performance
  • Ensuring health & safety and environmental regulations

Therefore, LNG is looking to fill following vacancy in Nigeria:

Job Title: Procurement Manager (m/f)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and guide all procurement related aspects at the plant site including purchasing, logistics, supplier development, quality, cost saving initiatives and its administration.
  • Manage effectively the procurement department in order to ensure cost effective, timely supply within the required quality.
  • In charge for the achievement of key performance indicators in the field of procurement costs, delivery dates and quality.
  • Coordinate procurement plans and budgets, initiatives and actions supporting the production and maintenance department.
  • Analyse and manage purchasing requisitions for spare parts.
  • List on-going and upcoming spare parts requests including identification of potential volume concentration.
  • Schedule purchases based on the forecast requirements and available stock.
  • Implement inventory management and control.
  • Safeguard an optimum level of direct material stock.
  • Implement procurement policies covering purchasing limits and authority levels, supplier selection criteria, purchase contract terms and conditions.
  • Procurement of spare parts, components and machines.
  • Establish procurement methods, systems and procedures for preparation of purchase orders and purchase contracts.
  • Analyse supplier quotations and recommend choice of suppliers.
  • Autonomous negotiation of procurement contracts with suppliers and subcontractors in regard to purchasing prices, delivery dates, payment terms and warranty.
  • Selection, qualification  and on-going management of current suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Sign purchase orders in cooperation with the Plant Manager.
  • Forecast purchasing and logistic costs.
  • Report and analyse price developments.
  • Maintain available catalogue of most common spare parts including cost prices.
  • Prepare, evaluate, follow up and negotiate all supporting services contracts such as maintenance and manpower supply contracts.
  • Responsible for the commercial claims management.
  • Provide the necessary guidance to the procurement staff to carry out the required processes.
  • Guide the assigned staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training.
  • Identify specific developmental needs and gaps of the department.
  • Train and develop the staff to provide specific procurement knowledge.
  • Control and guide the daily work.
  • Ensure a well-organised communication of decisions and current developments.
  • Implement standardized reporting functions, work instructions for optimising the process chains.
  • Carry out annual performance reviews of employees.
  • Close cooperation with the procurement department of LO&M in Dubai.
  • Continuous reporting to the Plant Manager.
  • Comply with all relevant company and statutory health and safety procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • University degree in an engineering discipline or economics.
  • Several years' experience in the cement industry as Procurement Manager.
  • Profound experience in leading and guiding a procurement department.
  • Sound knowledge of contract management and claims management.
  • Very good technical understanding.
  • Strategic, organisation and planning skills.
  • Profound knowledge in cost controlling and supplier management.
  • Sound negotiations skills, an outstanding ability to work in a team and a confident manner.
  • Very good MS-Office and SAP knowledge.
  • Business-fluent spoken and written English.
  • Further languages skills would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to various national locations.
