The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) - Since its creation in 1863, the ICRC's sole objective has been to ensure protection and assistance for victims of armed conflict and strife. It does so through its direct action around the world, as well as by encouraging the development of international humanitarian law (IHL) and promoting respect for it by governments and all weapon bearers. Its story is about the development of humanitarian action, the Geneva Conventions and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy below:

Wathab Engineer (Water and Habitation Engineer)
  
Job Location: Adamawa
 
 
Main Responsibilities

  • Assists the Wathab department in the identification, preparation, and implementation of water Sanitation and construction projects.
  • Supervises and follows-up the implementation of projects in close contact with contractors.
  • Establishes comprehensive technical data on WatHab projects.
  • Trains and coaches technical staff.

Required Qualifications

  • University degree (Civil Engineering or HND resource Engineer).
  • Experience in hydrogeology is an asset.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English Good command of Hausa language (Fulfulde will be an asset) Very good computer skills, Good expertise on AUTOCAD or similar software.
  • Good knowledge of Adamawa State and its environs.

  • Economic Security Field Officer (ECOSEC)

  
Job Location:  Adamawa, Gombe
  
 
Main Responsibilities

  • Conducts analysis of the situation, assessments according to operational priorities and proposes appropriate action
  • Conducts distributions with field teams
  • Designs, implements and monitors ECOSEC program activities.
  • Prepares written reports on the activities
  • Contributes to the overall ECOSEC strategy and budget follow up a Maintains close contact with beneficiaries
  • Represents the ICRC

Minimum Required Knowledge & Experience

  • University degree in Economics, Agronomy, Social Sciences, Nutrition or related disciplines.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Good computer skills especially in Excel
  • Work experience in a similar field (Especially National and International organization is an asset)

Purchaser /Logistics Assistant
 
Job Location: Abuja
  
 
Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure orders are delivered on time and items meet the specification required.
  • Prepare Purchase Order (PO) file according to ICRC standards.
  • Responsible for quality of items purchased.
  • Updates and maintains knowledge about main suppliers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree, or Higher degree in Administration, Logistics, Purchasing or similar field.
  • Similar work experience in logistics, purchasing, administration or in a humanitarian sector.
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Good computer skills
  • Driving license
  • Good knowledge of the local market

Personal Requirements:

  • Strongly motivated by humanitarian work
  • Transparent and honest person
  • Team leadership and good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a sense of initiative
  • Strong sense of responsibility and adaptability, able to work over time when needed
