A safety officer is urgently needed which as to be some one with oriented, thorough, and organized safety officer to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in ensuring all projects comply with local, state, and federal health and safety guidelines and procedures. You will ensure the safety of all employees, make sure all projects are up to code, and provide advice and recommendations for safety improvements.
Responsibilities
Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.)
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
Requirements
Solid knowledge of state and local statutes and ordinances on fire. safety and prevention, loss control, hazardous chemicals, building, electrical, noise pollution and the environment.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and walk through the work day.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
Up-to-date on latest local and state regulation and guideline changes
Qualifications
BSc/HND inany of this field business administration, public administration, engineering, construction, occupational safety and health, or related field
One(1) years previous experience in comprehensive workplace safety and compliance programs
